Junior Tour biggest race of week, though also action for senior, youth riders

The Junior Tour of Ireland, promoted by Usher Irish Road Club, is the biggest fixture of the week, though there is also plenty on offer for senior and youth riders in the week ahead.

The Junior Tour will unfold from Tuesday to Sunday - July 8th to 13th - and we will bring you reports on the race through the week.

This evening, Tuesday 8th, the fifth round of the Corkagh Park Women's League 2025 takes place in Corkagh Park, Dublin. There will be a combined A&B handicapped race, starting at 7.15pm, and non-Cycling Ireland members are also welcome.

Tomorrow evening - Wednesday, July 9th - Western Lakes Cycling Club is running the latest round of its Youth Road Race Series on the closed circuit at Ballinrobe Racecourse, Co Mayo.

Races start with U6 and U8 fun events at 6pm, followed by events for U10, U12, U14 and U16 boys and girls.

Also on Wednesday evening, the fourth round of the Kirkistown Race Series is being promoted by North Down CC, sponsored by Fit Studio NI.

Run on the Kirkistown Race Circuit in Newtownards, Co Down, there’s kids racing at 6.30pm, an event for U12s at 7pm and then a main event for U16, junior and senior riders at 7.30pm.

On Saturday - July 12th - Lucan CRC is running its 'Underage Race Day' at Corkagh Park, Dublin. Sign on opens at 9.30am and the criterium races begin at 10.00am.

There are races for U10, U12, U14 and U16 categories as well as a girls only U14-16 handicap race. All events are subject to entries and if numbers are low races will be combined.

Also on Saturday, the Cork County Time Trial Championship, incorporating the Para Revolution Cup, is being promoted by Blarney Cycling Club.

Sign-on, from 9.45am, and event start-finish is on the Old Mallow road, outside Rathpeacon National School. The first rider is off at 10.30am and the championship is open to full and limited competition licence holders resident in Cork or who ride for a Cork-registered club.

Sunday - July 13th - is the busiest day of the week ahead, with three road races. The Moynalty Grand Prix and Youth Races are being promoted by Moynalty CC in Kells, Co Meath, with race headquarters at Ballinlough GAA.

The youth races start at 8.30am; U12 (9km), U14 (18km), and U16 (27km). The C3 race (80km) starts at 9.30am and the C1-C2 event (113km) commences at 12 noon.

In Limerick on Sunday, Greenmount CA is promoting the Shanahan's Family Foods Races 2025 at Limerick Racecourse. The criterium events begin with youth races: U8-U10 (10am), U12 (10.10am), U14 (10.30am), U16 (11am).

The other races are as follows: Masters C2-C3, 1pm (40 mins plus 3 laps); C3-Women’s Race at 2pm (40mins plus 3 laps); C1-C2 race at 3pm (50mins plus 3 laps).

Next Monday, July 14th, Orwell Wheelers is promoting the latest round of the Savills Orwell Monday Night Racing Series 2025.

The series in Corkagh Park is for youths from U8 to U16. It's a three-race format in each age group: TT, elimination and scratch races.
