Race Across America (RAAM) is over 3,000 miles; a non-stop endurance race that starts in Oceanside California and ends in Annapolis, Maryland. Riders must survive the brutal heat of the Mojave and Arizona deserts and the altitude that comes with 175,000ft of climbing over three mountain ranges.

Barr (62), who began a new career as an endurance rider after his road racing days were over, attempted RAAM for the first time in 2012, when altitude sickness forced him out and almost cost him his life.

He went back in 2014 and finished 2nd in his category, and 10th overall. Barr returned for a third time in 2019 and the new documentary depicts his battle as he tries to finish in the top five.
