Finn Crockett (VolkerWessels Cycling Team) has taken the best win of his career when he seized the final yellow jersey at Kreiz Breizh Elites (2.2) on the last day; coming out best after an asbolutely nailbiting finish.

Crockett finished equal on time in the general classification with Niklas Larsen (BHS-PL Beton Bornholm); a very strong rider who separated Mads Pedersen (Lidl Trek) and Kasper Asgreen (EF Education-EasyPost) in the Danish TT championships earlier this year.

Though the final group was stretched right out on the final ramp to the finish line in Rostrenen, Brittany, Crockett summoned all the power he could to do what he needed to claim victory. Though he finished at the back of that group, after riding for time on the stage, he did not let a gap open, which secured him the victory.

Crockett previously rode for Great Britain, and claimed a bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games road race for Scotland in 2022. He has since switched allegiance, to Ireland, and won the overall title at Dornan Rás Mumhan in Co Kerry last year.

On today's final stage in France - some 181.8km from Grâces to Rostrenen - Crockett was one of nine riders who battled it out for stage victory. And with yellow jersey Jean-Louis Le Ny (Veloce Club Rouen 76) over three minutes back the road, the fight for the 2025 title was likely between Crockett and Larsen, who began the day 2nd and 3rd overall at one second.

However, Czech rider Matyáš Kopecký (Team Novo Nordisk) was also in the front group and had started the day 4th overall, three seconds off yellow and just two seconds down on Crockett and Larsen. That meant a late move, even one gaining a handful of seconds, would have decided the final general classification.

In the end, the group came to the line for the sprint finish intact. And when both Crockett and Larsen finished on the same time in that front group today, Crockett secured the overall victory. He was 9th today, 2nd yesterday and 30th on stage 1. Today's stage was won, in an uphill sprint, by France's Gari Lagnet (AC Bisontine).

An Irish quartet, all riding for Velo Performance - Cal Tutty, Willem O'Connor, Conor Prendergast and Michael Collins - were also in the field, in what is regarded as a very challenging race. O'Connor was the sole finisher of the four, placing 74th overall at 25:39.
