Lachlan Morton has embraced EF Pro Cycling's decision to branch out and take on cycling challenges outside the pro road racing circuit, including his recent setting of a new world record for Everesting.

He also recently took the on 140-mile Kokopelli Trail, which winds its way from from Moab, Utah to Loma, Colorado.

Most cyclists who ride it take in sections over three
days but Morton decided to take it on all in one go and was hoping to beat the
fastest known time; 11hrs 52mins held by Kurt Refsnider.

He set off just after 2:30am in the morning and made good
progress most of the way, though his headlight sitting down shortly after the
start and a puncture had to be overcome.

considerable margin as he rode the trail in 11hrs 14mins.

EF Pro Cycling have released this short film by Thomas Woodson about Morton's ride, on which he carried all his own provisions and re-filled or river water, using a filter.

Branching out into taking on challenges, rather than simply racing, has garnered EF Pro Cycling and their sponsors a lot of very cool feel-good publicity. He set the fastest time in the world on a second attempt after his first effort was deemed outside the strict rules.
