You race in the peloton at weekends and should have been
riding Rás Mumhan this weekend. By day you run a major hotel.
So what do you do if your racing and your day job are effectively closed, for now, by Covid19?
Well, Marcus Treacy decided to whip around his family’s hotel on his bike now that he has the chance. And he made this video, below, to prove it.
The Killarney Cycling Club rider is well-known on the road racing scene and he also knows how to throw a mountain bike around.
Showing off some nice skills on his mountain bike inside the hotel, Treacy also managed to whip up some ingenious publicity for the business for when it re-opens; his young nephew Teddy bringing some star quality to the piece.
Treacy and his sister Ciara run both family hotels; the Killarney Park, which is featured in the video, and The Ross Hotel, also in Killarney.
“We came up with the video to show
people that you can still have fun even though you are closed,” Marcus told
stickybottle.
“And because we are a 24-7 business, 365 days a year, it's rare I get the opportunity to do wheelies through the restaurant and race down the staircase!
“We’ve done many fun videos over the
years for both hotels so it made sense to do something cool and positive to
counter all this negativity from Covid19.”
The video below, featuring Marcus Treacy flying around the Killarney Park, was made by Adrian McCarthy of Grandview Media.
