Seth Dunwoody, who enjoyed very significant success in Europe through the 2024 season has signed for the World Tour team Bahrain Victorious' development squad.
The Irish teenager will ride his first season as an U23 in 2025 after a stellar junior career, collecting top tier results from sprints and TTs over the last 12 months.
He rode for the Cannibal B Victorious team - also part of the Bahrain Victorious network - for the last two years and now moves onto the development team for what will hopefully be another very fruitful year.
That development squad, CTF Victorious, is based and registered in Italy and competes as a UCI Continental team, having done so since 2019.
Dunwoody was junior road race champion in 2023, and also claimed victory in some very hard elite Irish races over the last two seasons. However, his most notable victories came in Europe, including in the UCI U23 Nations Cup series racing for Ireland against other national teams.
He claimed stage wins in both Course de la Paix Juniors (2.Ncup) in the Czech Republic and Nation's Cup Hungary (2.Ncup), where he was also 2nd on a stage and 2nd overall.
In 2024 he came out of the traps hard at the start of the year, finishing 2nd in the season opening Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne Juniors (1.1) and then winning E3 Saxo Classic (1.1).
Dunwoody, from Hamiltonbawn in Co Armagh, is a very interesting prospect considering his mixed abilities sprinting and against the watch. He won the Chrono des Nations (1.1) TT last year and was 5th in the junior TT at the Worlds in Zurich.
Currently training in southern Spain, Dunwoody is due to start a team training camp there in a matter of days. He is then going to Greece, where the team is down to ride its first stage race of the year, South Aegean Tour(2.2).
