Irish cyclist and designer Shea Gribbon had a great day at La Vuelta yesterday, even though he's not riding the race!
Gribbon has been customising cycling kit - mainly shoes and helmets - in recent years and has just gone full-time with The Shoe Dr, which is his own business. You can see some of his customised shoe efforts, and the repairs he also does, in the photos below.
Yesterday at La Vuelta, British rider Harry Tanfield (AG2R La Mondiale) was wearing a pair of shoes that had been customised for him by Gribbon, with the shoes generating lots of interest with ITV and Eurosport.

Tanfield's shoes were customised to celebrate his bronze medal at the World Championships last year in the mixed relay TTT.
Gribbon, AKA The Shoe Dr, customised the Sidis with a turquoise base layer before adding the logo of the Yorkshire Worlds, Tanfield’s name and the date of the bronze medal, with the medal also featuring on the shoes.
Also included is the name of John Archibald, one of Tanfield’s team mates in the mixed relay TTT, as well as the name ‘Piggy’ and a picture of a pig, which is all a nod to one of his other team mates for that TTT, Dan Bingham.
You can check out The Shoe Dr at its Facebook account and check out all the ways this Irish company can enhance your look on the bike.
