Darren Rafferty has been unveiled in Hagens Berman Axeon's completely new look kit for the season ahead, with last year's mainly blue and pink kit giving way to a black with splashes of blue.
The 19-year-old Irishman from Co Tyrone has just completed a training camp in Tuscany, Italy, with the UCI Continental team ahead of his second season with Axel Merckx's development outfit.
Rafferty had a brilliant debut season in the pro bunch last year after securing a place on his team with a winning run as a second-year junior in France in the summer of 2021. Last season he came good very quickly, winning Strade Bianche di Romagna (1.2U) in Italy in early May.
He placed 6th in the U23 TT at the Europeans while also winning the Irish title in the race against the clock. Crucially, he rode a series of big stage races last season which should have really helped with his development - Tour de l'Avenir with the Irish team while completing Giro Ciclistico della Valle d'Aosta-Mont Blanc (2.2U) and the Baby Giro with his trade team.
