Wout van Aert dressed up in a latex squirrel suit to sing on Belgium's 'The Masked Singer' TV show, revealing his identity after his performance tonight

The Belgian rider sang in disguise, with the head of his costume concealing his identity, though there had been intense speculation the Visma-Lease a Bike rider was the singing squirrel.

While the singers generally perform multiple times through the series, Van Aert's appearance was limited to just one performance, due to his commitments; the upcoming cyclocross season and his ongoing recovery from his Vuelta crash.

"I was looking forward to it and at the same time I was a bit scared, it was a once in a lifetime experience," said Van Aert after his performance.
