Irish road and track fast man Felix English will join UK-based Continental team Madison-Genesis for next season where he will be mentored by Mark Cavendish.
Former national criterium champion English had an indifferent season this year with JLT-Condor, though a series of hand injuries meant he was never able to give his best.
His departure to Madison-Genesis brings to an end three seasons with the John Herety-led squad.
English, 23, was drafted into the Irish track team towards in recent months and he’s shown some good form since his arrival.
He rode the European Championships last month and is very much in the frame for duty in the upcoming UCI World Cup events.
It’s a superb move for him and with a man of Cavendish’s standing so closely linked with the team it augers well for English.
Madison Genesis were one of the strongest teams in the UK this year and rode the Tour of Britain.
They've a strong roster of mainly UK-based men with English the sole Irishman in a squad.
Also signed for 2016 are Mike Northey, Tom Stewart, Erick Rowsell, Tobyn Horton, Matt Cronshaw, Matt Holmes, Joe Evans, Tristan Robbins, Grufford Lewis, Alex Blain and Taylor Gunman.
“This is the perfect opportunity for me to repay the sport I love with that same support and guidance for these young, talented riders," said Cavendish.
“There’s no better platform to do that from than through a team I really believe in like Madison Genesis.”
