Bradley Wiggins turns out at his local club 10 mile TT; take a look

The club riders photo bomb an amused Bradley Wiggins as he lines up to start the Bickerstaffe local 10 Mile TT last night.

Here's much of what we love about cycling summed up in a couple very simple photos snapped at a local 10 Mile TT in the UK last night, Tuesday.

Tour de France winner and reigning Olympic TT champion Bradley Wiggins lined out for the D10/1 test in Bickerstaffe; a village  parish in Lancashire.

Now riding for his own squad Team Wiggins, the former Team Sky leader is currently in the final stages of preparing for the arena that made his name; the Olympic velodrome.

Wiggins will line out as part of the Team GB team pursuit outfit in Rio in August aiming to bring his tally of Olympic golds to five.

But he took to the local test last night for a bit of competitive action and clocked a time of 19:15, for an average speed of 31.17mph.

The locals clearly loved having Wiggins line up alongside them, with Phil Williams of Liverpool Phoenix CC getting closest to the great man when he clocked a time of 19.54.

Williams was the only other rider in the field to maintain an average speed above 30mph, clocking 30.15mph to be precise.

But the fact somebody of Wiggins stature would simply turn up to a local small event and get stuck in with everyone from novices to top amateurs is something you wouldn't see in many sports.

Neither Wayne Rooney nor Lionel Messi have been photographed of late having a game of "three and you're in" down in the local part to the best of our knowledge!

Not exactly a capacity crowd, but those who were there will remember it for a long time.

The finishing times; Wiggins is rider 15.
