The bike ridden by Bradley Wiggins into Paris on the final day of the Tour de France in 2012, which he won, is up for sale.
And the same
coaching company in the UK selling the Wiggins bike has also advertised one of
Lance Armstrong’s racing bikes for sale, dating to the early 1990s when he rode
for the Motorola team.
Both bikes were advertised online on Friday by the TrainSharp coaching company.
It’s not clear if the bikes are owned by Wiggins, who has a large collection of bikes and other memorabilia.
The Wiggins bike is a yellow jersey customised Pinarello Dogma 65.1 that was specially made for him for his final day in yellow into Paris.
Aside from the yellow paint job it comes with matching yellow Fizik saddle, bar tape, and Speedplay pedals with Shimano’s 10-speed Dura-Ace Di2 groupset.
The price of the
bike may surprise as it’s being offered for sale for just £7,500, though the
buyer must also pay for postage or shipping.
The Lance Armstrong bike appears to be a regular team issue Eddy Merckx bike that the Motorola team rode in the early 1990s around the time the American turned pro in Europe and won the Oslo Worlds in 1993.
It’s also being sold by TrainSharp and is being offered for sale for £5,000. It is made from Columbus Genius tubing with Shimano Dura-Ace 7400 eight-speed groupset.
