They've taken on several options; road, home trainer and riding off road with some running involved.

Their conclusion? A 30-minute bike ride is not perfect but you can still do a decent work-out in half an hour and doing such a short ride is better than nothing.

Obviously if you are very pressed for time, the home trainer may be your best option. You can get the precise ride you want, at the exact effort. But don't cut short your cool-down.

You also don't need to put so much time into dressing for your ride and you should be quicker wrapping up at the end and getting showered and changed.
