There are few things nicer - and better for clearing the head - than a solo bike ride; especially in the morning and especially at this time of year.
Unlike many other sports, we don't have to arrange to go to a venue or always meet up with others to do our sport. When can hit the road whenever we want and suit ourselves in terms of how far we go and how hard or easy we want to ride.
However, while having that freedom is fantastic, there are also some basic steps we should take when we go riding on our own. When we're out solo, if things go wrong we can be left stranded. And even if the weather turns when we're not prepared, limping home on your own freezing or wet can be pretty miserable.
Global Cycling Network has produced this short video outlining some tips for use when we cycle alone. It's well worth a look, especially if you're newer to the sport.
