Week-long pre-season training camp with SportActive in Mallorca

SportActive are holding a pre-season training camp in Mallorca in a month's time

In an earlier version of this story we stated Sean Kelly would be on this camp. That was not correct. Sean works with SportActive and attends many of the company's cycling holidays and events; and will do so later this year as usual. However, at stickybottle we misunderstood the dates Sean was riding with SportActive this year and mistakenly stated he would attend this camp in a month's time. He was never scheduled to attend and the error was made by stickybottle. We apologise to our readers for the error and of course to Sean and SportActive.

Cycling tour group SportActive has been operating in Mallorca for years and next month it will be holding a week-long training camp on the Spanish island.

The camp is not for beginners as the emphasis is on
training to prepare you for the season ahead.

However, it’s suitable for racing or sportive riders and
there will be two groups training each day meaning you can slot in with
whichever group suits.

The camp runs from February 29th to March 7th and at €569
per person the fee includes the following:

  • 5 structured training rides
  • Pro coaching advice
  • Two seminars: training, nutrition...
  • 7 nights Half Board, 4* hotel in Puerto Alcùdia, Mallorca
  • Hire bike
  • Airport transfers

All of the details, and the full range of what's included as well as an outline of the destination, is available by following this link.

You can ride on your own if you wish or ride in one of the two training groups; with all riders staying at the same accommodation.

between 28-32km per hour. The second group will ride up to 100km per day, in a
speed of 24-28km per hour.

There will be 10 to 15 riders per group and the rides

days.

“All
SportActive guests stay in the same hotel as a big family and we have reserved
tables in the hotel restaurant allowing to meet for the meals; this makes the
trip very enjoyable also for solo travelers,” said SportActive.

“You will be treated like a pro with nothing to think
about. Everything will just happen during your cycling training camp.

“Everything will be taken care of from the moment you arrive in Palma de Mallorca airport to the moment you get back to the airport.”
