Ryan Mullen powered to his 12th Irish road title on Thursday evening in an average weighted power of 420 watts, according to his Strava file.
The Trek-Segafredo man
came out of the 25.93 mile elite men’s TT title race in Donegal in a time of
50:24, some 52 seconds up on Eddie Dunbar (Team Ineos).
He rode an average speed of 30.9mph with a max of 41.6mph. Mullen’s average heart rate was 183bpm and hit a max of 189bpm.
His max power reached 1,081 watts and Mullen burned 1,267 calories in a ride with 1,037ft of elevation. He weighs about 81kg, or a kilo or two higher.
It’s no surprise he
spent the vast majority of his ride at the upper end of the range. He spent
36:25 at between 168-185bpm and spent 13:03 over 185bpm.
Mullen also spent almost half of his ride significantly above his average power.
He spent 16:59 between 379 and 441 watts, according to his Strava file. Mullen also spent 19:47 between 442 and 504 watts and almost two minutes between 505 and 630 watts.
