Ryan Mullen leads the near day-long breakaway, a ride for which he has now shared his Strava file.
Ryan Mullen is flying form at the moment, finishing both Belgian classics in very good order last weekend after a very strong ride at the Volta ao Algarve the previous week.
He was 14th in the TT in Portugal and likely would have made the top three had he not been forced to stop shortly after the start when his chain came off.
The following day he vented his frustration at the TT opportunity lost; going up the road in the main breakaway of the day for about 195km.
The escape was only caught with 2km to go and Mullen was disappointed afterwards to hear the motos had been so close to the front of the bunch they appeared to aid the chase.
