Nicolas Roche to lead long Zwift training ride for cyclists in Ireland

Nicolas Roche will lead a Cycling Ireland Zwift workout on Sunday

Nicolas Roche has been lined up by Cycling Ireland to lead a near two-hour training ride on Zwift this Sunday, April 5th.

The Vuelta double stage winner will take riders on a
group workout of between 1¾ and two hours and anyone can sign up to join him.

Sunday’s ride is the latest installment in Cycling
Ireland’s push to organise racing and group training on Zwift.

The federation had said in recent months it was working on launching eRacing. However, when the Covid19 crisis hit Cycling Ireland accelerated and expanded its plans.

An eRace took place last Saturday morning, which was the
first in a 12-event series.

Racing, sportives and club rides are all paused in
Ireland at present and people can only exercise within a 2km radius of their
home, ruling out substantive cycling training.

However, Cycling Ireland’s Zwift racing series is set to
take place every Saturday morning. And training sessions for groups of riders
are being run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Roche’s ride is part of those group training activities,
though unlike the other training rides it takes place on Sunday rather than
midweek.

Details of his Cycling Ireland group workout ride will be made available in content that can be accessed at this link.

However, before Roche’s ride there are two other Zwift workouts taking place – today and on Thursday – the details of which can be found below.
