Chris Froome is obviously keen to clear up any doubt about his ability to train hard as he attempts his comeback after a bad crash and has been posting his rides in Strava.
The four-time Tour winner is in Gran Canaria training with Team Ineos, with Eddie Dunbar in his group.
Froome (34) has taken to Strava to post the rides he did last Friday, Saturday and Sunday as he limbers up for the new season.
On Friday the group he was in did a 125km ride that took 4½ hours and featured 2,243 metres of climbing.
The riders averaged 28km per hour despite riding one
climb that took 29 minutes.
On Saturday they did 127km which took just under 4½ hours. There was 2,411 metres of elevation and they averaged 28.4km.
Yesterday was the biggest day in terms of both duration,
kilometres and climbing; featuring the 24km Complesso Tederas da Horno with an
average gradient of four per cent.
There was a total of 3,661 metres of climbing during the ride which took 4:53 and saw the riders average 26.9km.
Froome is currently on the comeback trail after an extended period on the sidelines following his crash last June during a recon of stage 4 TT at Critérium du Dauphiné.
He hit a wall at high speed when a gust of wind caught his front wheel as he took his hands off the handlebars.
Froome suffered a litany of injuries including a right femur fracture, broken elbow and broken ribs.
