Daire Feeley has won the Donamon Dynamos GP, his home race, this afternoon after beating a trio of Aquablue men in the race to the line.

The talented iTap man was in the day’s breakaway that featured Sean Lacey, Dylan Foley, Mark O’Callaghan, (all Aquablue), Craig Rea (Phoenix CC), Dermot Radford (Tipp Wheelers) and Mark Scanlon (North West MTB) and Daragh Bailey (Unattached Connacht), amongst others.

The race took on extra significance as it was round eight of the national road series and with Lacey and Feeley first and third overall before today, a right battle was expected between the two.

Rea suffered bad luck and punctured out of the escape which later broke up anyway under the searing pace set by the Aquablue men and Feeley.

The four came to the line and despite the local man being clearly outnumbered he rode a textbook final, timing his effort to perfection.
