Glenn Kinning beats Robin Seymour in Kilternan

Glenn Kinning, Robin Seymour and David Conroy have emerged as the form men in the early stages of the new cyclocross season.

In the opening round of the Fixx Cyclocross Series in Kilternan, south Dublin, it was Kinning who got the verdict.

He had already taken victory the previous week in the GP Brian Kinning in Orangefield, Belfast.

The event was promoted by his own Kinning Cycles business. And it was dedicated to his late father, who had sadly died just 10 days earlier.

Yesterday in Dublin Glenn Kinning made it two from two; emerging strongest in a three-way battle at the head of affairs.

Kinning took victory by just three seconds from Seymour (Team WORC). Early leader Conroy (Scott-Eurocycles) was in 3rd place, a further four seconds back.

There was then a bigger gap, of almost one minute, back to Paul O’Reilly (UCD-Fitzcycles) in 4th.

And Anthony Doyle of Strata3-VeloRevolution rounded out the top five on the day.

Doyle and O’Reilly were both making a seamless transition from the road season, having taken 1st and 3rd in the Mondello Bikeworx Series last Tuesday evening.

In the B race yesterday, Valdis Andersons (Scott-Orwell) won by four seconds from David Meredith (Epic MTB). Darren O’Toole (Bray Wheelers) was a further 20 seconds back in 3rd place.
