A leg fracture has put Bradley Wiggins out of ‘The Jump’ though he will still be in a couple more episodes yet to be aired.
Having made a winning start to The Jump celebrity snow sports series on Channel 4 last week, Bradley Wiggins has been forced out with a leg fracture.
The 2012 Tour winner and five-time Olympic gold medallist has fractured his leg.
He took to Twitter to say while he would need neither surgery nor a cast for the injury, it meant he could not continue in the show.
“Gutted to be leaving The Jump. I wanted to give you an injury update,” he said.
“Seen a specialist, I have a small leg fracture & need to rest for 3/6 weeks. Good news no surgery or cast required..
“Huge thanks to the crew & good luck to all of the cast. Due to the way the show is filmed I’ll still be on until show 4, so tune in.
“No horror smash, small training injury which means I can’t compete. No terrible break, no cast, just need to rest it.”
Channel 4 said: “Bradley injured his leg during training and although keen to continue in the competition he will no longer take part following the fourth show in the series.”
Wiggins made an impact on the opening show when he said live on air he was taking part to “piss off” The Daily Mail.
However, he also won his downhill skiing race and had said he wanted to win the competition.
