Philippe Gilbert, left, will be Nicolas Roche’s guest at the Irish rider’s first event by his new The Project promotions company in Ireland next month

Following their exploits at La Vuelta, Nicolas Roche and Philippe Gilbert are hosting a social and cycling event in Ireland next month.

Both stars of the peloton will host an evening event at which they’ll be interviewed on stage.

And the following day they’ll lead out a group ride that you can accompany them on.

The event is the first to be staged by The Project by Nicolas Roche; a new promotions company.

You can book for the evening event or the cycle or both by following this link.

Spaces are limited and demand will be high so if you’re interested it’s best to get in quick.

Gilbert is a good friend of Roche’s and is coming to Ireland as his guest and co-star for what should be an insightful evening and enjoyable ride the following day.

Roche is currently recovering from a roller-coaster Vuelta; leading the race for three days before crashing out.

And Gilbert won two stages at La Vuelta, beating Sam Bennett to the line for his second win on stage 17.

They are storied riders who have been through it all in the pro game and as a double-header public interview they should be very entertaining.

The details…

The event will take place on the weekend of October 19th and 20th at the Palmerstown House Estate.

On Saturday 19th the gala dinner will be followed by the public interview and questions and answers with Roche and Gilbert.

On Sunday 20th you can join the two pros for the inaugural, The Project Cycle Series.

Two routes are available to suit all levels, taking some of Roche’s favourite training rides when in Ireland.

Some of the proceeds are going to Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
