The British-based cyclocross team put together by Andrew McQuaid and Trinity Sports Management around British star Tom Pidcock has been unveiled.

While news of the new outfit emerged some time ago, it has now unveiled its sponsors, kit and bike. They get started racing in Belgium and Holland this weekend.

Andrew McQuaid is a former cyclist turned cycling agent. A winner of cyclocross, road race and TT titles at Worlds and European level, Pidcock is a client of McQuaid’s.

He rides on the road with Team Wiggins. And for cyclocross he has now thrown his lot in with the new team built by McQuaid’s company.

It is very much a vehicle for Pidcock’s development. He intends to continue riding both cyclocross and road in the years to come.

The team, TP Racing, is being dressed by the MAAP cycling apparel company which is based in Melbourne.

It will ride Crux Expert frames provided by Specialized; with SRAM Force groupset. The wheels are supplied by Vision, saddles by Fizik, and tubular tyres by Challenge.

Other backers included the OTE Sports performance nutrition company, Oakley for glasses, Giro for helmets and shoes and Ceramic Speed, which is supplying bottom brackets and bearings.

Pidcock is in the team with fellow British riders Dan Tulett, a former national junior MTB champion, and female British rider Emily Wadsworth

TP Racing will this weekend debut in the RapenCross in Lokeren on Saturday. And on Sunday it takes in the Superprestige event in Gieten.

Tom Pidcock, the current U23 British cyclocross champion, says he can’t wait to get going with the new outfit.

Though he’s ridden a full season on the road with Team Wiggins, he believes he’s ready for battle off-road.

“I had a good break after the Tour of Britain and have slowly been building up to the start of the ‘cross season,” he said.

“I’m not sure how I will go this weekend. But I am looking forward to getting into the rhythm of racing each weekend and building strongly towards later goals.

“TP Racing has compiled a world class list of partners. And I am excited to show off my new kit this coming weekend.”

Jamie Barlow, head of cycling for Andrew McQuaid’s Trinity Sports Management, said the new team was an exciting chapter.

“As team owners we are proud and delighted to announce such a strong list of technical partners to support Tom, Dan and Emily on their racing ambitions over the season ahead,” he said.

“To have some of the biggest and best brands in cycling supporting some of the brightest young prospects makes it a very exciting start to TP Racing’s journey.”
