Video: Team’s victory salute goes horribly wrong on finish line

GP Bob Jungels finish line crash: Three team mates filled all three spots on the podium; saluting their victory followed by everyone going on their ear.

At the end of GP Bob Jungels in Luxembourg, riders from the same team filled the top three spots and then crashed after celebrating their victory.

Paul Lahaye of French team CC Villeneuve attacked the breakaway and held them off to the line by one second to take victory.

His team mates Timothée Laleu and Simon Rifflet came in for 2nd and 3rd just behind.

All three were understandably delighted and celebrated as they crossed the line; as you do.

However, Lahaye crossed the line a little slower than the others who were sprinting for the runner-up spot right behind.

And as the video below shows, the delight at winning and his team mates placing right behind him soon turned to disaster when they crashed just after crossing the line.

In the same race, Irish junior Kevin McCambridge spent 45km up the road solo before being caught; a great ride by him.
